League@NCR
is one of six active Business Resource Groups (or BRGs)
within NCR Corporation.
League@NCR is the educational and support group for
gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender employees at NCR.
The primary purpose of League@NCR is to promote an
inclusive work environment that supports employees of all sexual
orientations, gender identities and/or expressions. The organization provides
educational resources and informational support to NCR in attaining
workplace diversity goals and retaining gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender employees.
League@NCR History
In 1987, a handful of gay and lesbian AT&T employees
formed an informal support group called Lesbian and Gay United
Employees at AT&T, or LEAGUE.
In 1988, the first officially recognized chapter
of LEAGUE formed at AT&T in Denver, Colorado. Chapters soon
followed in New Jersey, Ohio, and Illinois.
In 1992, LEAGUE National was created and bound the
loosely associated chapters together to form a common voice.
In 1996, with the trisection of AT&T into AT&T,
Lucent Technologies, and NCR, LEAGUE maintained separate identities with each of
the companies that was formed.
League@NCR was formed to support
NCR's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender employees.
